Cornucopia is a symbol of Thanksgiving and abundance. It is also known as the "horn of plenty", and the "horn of Amalthea". In Greek mythology, Amalthea was a goat who raised Zeus on her breast milk. Her horn was accidentally broken off by Zeus while playing together. The god Zeus, in remorse, gave back her horn with the supernatural power that whoever in possession of it would have whatever he or she wished for. The original depiction of cornucopia was that of a goat's horn filled with fruits and flowers. In modern depiction, the cornucopia is usually a hollow, horn-shaped wicker basket filled with festive fruits and vegetables.
